Get your skin fit for summer!
Summer is nearly here and the heavy foundation is replaced by BB and CC cream and in general we are more naked on the face. How do you get your skin fit for wedding and races season? A professional facial is how. First of all decide how you want to approach it. Do you want to book into your local beauty salon and have a facial by your favourite beauty therapist? Or would you prefer a more medical approach? Is a luxury retail therapy facial more your style? Here are all three types explained and having done them all I will help you choose.
Your Beauty Salon will have a list of services and facials to suit all skin types. Some of my favourites are The Darphin Spa in the Oriel House Hotel this is the ultimate in luxury and good quality skincare in . great surroundings. Next up is a Caci Anti-aging facial in Devereaux Beauty. The Caci facial is one favoured by Jlo and all of the celebs. It is a high tech machine that works your facial muscles but is still relaxing. The type of facial done depends on your needs and age.
Mediglow in Douglas and Kathryn Revell on Oliver Plunkett Street take the more medical approach with Glycolic Peels and Microdermabrasion. These are both an excellent way of brightening dull skin and a course will help reverse sun damage and your skin will feel ultra-renewed.
Another way of getting a facial is to head to the mecca of exclusive beauty Brown Thomas who has a dedicated beauty room. There are a few skincare houses in there that offer the service, for decadent luxury think Shiseido, Sisley and Crème de la Mer who offer this service every six weeks or so. Clarins, Lancome , Estee Lauder and Aveda do bi-monthly slots also.
Firstly the beauty room is discreet and off the main walkway. The cost is two products one to be skincare and the facial is free. Essentially you are walking out with full size products and a luxury service. It’s a great way to pick up your products. Shiseido do a specialised facial too using their sleek men’s range for all of you boys! You need to book in advance though as the most customers any one counter can see in a week is 25. They only do 5 per day and the appointments run from Tuesday to Saturday. To book call 021-4805555, ask to be put through to your skincare house of choice.
Try also to book a facial for a day that you are not too busy and can relax afterwards and try to let your make up off and utilise a tinted moisturiser or BB cream if you must! In an ideal world we should have a facial at least once every three months! Go on you deserve it! Get your glow –on.
