I first met Vicki when I did her make up when she was bridesmaid for her best friend Donnas wedding in December. I’m always nervous doing a beauty therapists make up but we bonded over a mutual love of a Shiseido foundation brush of all things.
Donnas lashes were admirable but Vicki having a salon in Youghal was slightly prohibitive in the sense of I’m working six days a week and The Beauty Spot is closed on Sundays.
Recently she started a small salon in Blackrock By appointment only which suited me as Sunday is a day she sometimes works. I must admit to being a fan of semis, however I do find the cost of them prohibitive at times. I got a quote from Vicki of €50
For a full set and was happy with this. A half set is €30 but with my particular own lashes I need a full set. I explained to Vicki that these needed to be fluttery but not too avant garde as I had recently lightened my hair.
I love the effect of the semi lashes and use simple eye make up remover to take off shadow and liner using cotton balls and a cotton bud. You need to be a little more careful but it’s worth it for fluttery lashes. You wake up awake which is totally worth it.
I was doing date night with my husband so opted also for an OPI gel mani too. The colour I chose was Strawberry Margarita and it turned out brilliant. My nails were brittle lately and I had found a solution for those but that is another blog post!
See broke the picture of the lashes without any eye make up just to show the full effect.
So you can contact Vicki at the Beauty Spot in Youghal or on Facebook by Vicki lashes. I know she’s booked up in advance so leave around ten days notice to be sure to get an appointment in Cork.
