Adore and the Venus machine

Adore

Two weeks ago exactly today I had the privilege of having a Venus Freeze anti -aging facial in Adore Salon on Oliver Plunkett Street. This non-surgical procedure takes around 45 minutes and there is no down time, so if you are feeling indulgent it is the perfect lunch-time treat. I didn’t know what to expect, from either a results or treatment perspective and because it is called freeze I was expecting all kinds of cold apparatus. I need not have worried one bit. From the moment I entered the lovely salon it was luxury. Arlene my therapist explained what to expect and it was everything she said it was.

The treatment felt like a mini hot stone massage on my face, there is a gel applied initially and this facilitates the movement of the head around your face without discomfort. The head of the Venus Freeze for the face is like a little mini roller with steel balls that delivers heat to the skin. Here is the science bit: Using patented (MP)² technology, Venus Freeze utilizes multi-polar radio frequency and Pulsed Magnetic fields which produce a soothing and therapeutic heat matrix over the skin. Skin tightening, wrinkle reduction and cellulite reduction occur because the multi-polar radio frequency causes a thermal reaction in the tissue which stimulates the body’s natural healing response. This restoring response causes new collagen to form and the production of new elastin fibres.  The active collagen in the skin contracts, achieving tighter skin, softening of wrinkles and reduced cellulite

So how did it compare to your average facial? At 36 I am no doubt aging however, I have a good routine skincare wise and so don’t have any major areas of concern except for my cheeks, which due to weight loss had deflated slightly. I am happy about the weight loss 3 Stone and counting but there is no doubt my cheeks need a little more oomph. Post treatment m skin felt soft and the area around my eyes definitely looked brighter. My cheeks got the oomph they needed to and after just one treatment the skin along my jawline felt tighter. My make-up glided on and my skin two weeks later still feels plump and hydrated. I have also had lots of compliments on my skin and have been just using a BB cream for every day. I have done my research online also about this wonder machine and it is very effective at softening the nose to mouth lines.

So who is this treatment aimed at? Anybody that wants a course of non-invasive facials that help you see definite results. I haven’t tried the anti-cellulite side of the treatment yet but I will before my holidays. I would recommend it for brides, mothers of the brides, fathers of the brides and anyone that perhaps has a special occasion or birthday coming up. They cost €120 per treatment and Adore Recommend a course of 8 for best results, you can buy this for €720 upfront, and that includes two free.

On a side note I had a chat with Arlene regarding my broken veins on my face and she gave me a very comprehensive consultation about getting these removed in an effective and cost effective way. So thumbs up for Arlene and the team at Adore who also have a salon downstairs should you decide to have a blow dry after your treatment which I did.
