As a blonde I am very inclined to stick within my comfort zone when it comes to make up. I’m not especially concerned with what people think about whether I wear too much , however sometimes colours just don’t suit me. I was always of the belief that burgundy was one of those colours that wouldn’t suit my eye colour but boy was I wrong.
My love of the MAC eyeshadows is now well documented as well as their gorgeous pro long wear nourishing foundation. If you’ve not already tried it … Then go forth and do so its long wear and waterproof without the chalky finish.
I love the fact that there’s a mixture of colours in the pallet and indeed a fantastic mixture of matte and sparkly. These are handbag size and retail at €40. They have a good selection of the old favourites in them too.
Would I repurchase ? Definitely I’ve had it a week and worn a good combination of Browns and burgundy from it. It would be really versatile too for someone that loves a defined eye by day but a smokey one by night. The pallet is a must for any novices that are just dipping their toes into the world of MAC.
Another look that I love is this one with the addition of the new Versicolour lipstain and gloss in one. Gloss is set to make a big comeback this summer and what better thing to match it with than a stain that is long wearing? These are being introduced this month as a permanent addition to the range.
They are pretty, pigmented and ultra glossy on the lips. They are fun and flirty and great if you like a high volume gloss without that stickiness you can sometime experience with traditional glosses.
Now there’s always a sad story with the limited editions and the bronzer pictures above will only be on counter for 4 weeks. It’s a bronzer that you can swirl a big brush around to give you a glow or it’s versatile enough to use as a eyeshadow too. The pic below sees me using it as a blush and eyeshadow.
The shade I got was Sunnyside and it retails at €31.00.
These are all on counter for April.
My initial visit to the MAC counter saw me meeting one of the artists Sinead. Knowing Sinead on a professional basis for a long time meant that she knew my type of coverage and we chatted about textures and the fact I was looking for a sculpted day time look.
This is the daytime look she created using Extreme Dimension Mascara and the new kajal pencils which give 8 hours wear in the waterline. And some traditional colours like Cork to add depth.
You can expect to see lots more of these looks from me throughout the summer. I’ve become a total MAC addict in recent years and this really sealed the deal. MAc is an artist quality brand used at all of the fashion weeks and at wedding party make up by Ireland’s top make up artists. Their staff are trained in cutting edge looks and are able to teach you to transform even the most dramatic looks into wearable everyday looks using the right product and tools. With make up everyday is a school day and to book a consultation it’s €40 redeemable against purchase.
