Travelling light

Anyone that has flown with a low cost airline will know that space is at a premium in your suitcase yet the dilemma of keeping your skin and hair in tip top condition while you are away is a struggle without your favourite products. Here are some tips for traveling light but keeping your space tight in your luggage.
Tip 1: Use a cleansing balm which is solid and compact. This Cailyn  one applied directly to your skin will dissolve the most waterproof or long wear make up. I like to remove it with damp cotton and then double cleanse with a foam or gel. I always double cleanse, because I don’t really use a toner. The balm melts into an oil which will not be suitable for oily skin but works just fine or dry or combination. It would be great for mature skin too, i am kinda on the cusp of this so it suits me just fine.

You can buy empty bottles too if you use toner to refill from Tiger or Penneys. They work out at €2 for three which is so cheap and it means that you can bring a nice shower gel along too. There is now excuse to compromise on good skincare while you are away, the sun and overindulgence is bad enough without making your poor skin suffer too.

The Cocoa Brown tanning wipes are an ingenious way of taking your tan on holiday with you. Compact and containing the Magic Cocoa Brown formula you can use them on your face and body for a really healthy glow. The gang at Cocoa Brown were kind enough to send me these and I kept them for my holidays. They are available in Penneys or Pharmacies for the price of a coffee €2.50.

Being on holiday means you don’t need to  compromise on quality hair care with Kevin Murphy and his magical minis. Available in most of his lovely pieces I picked up the Blonde Angel wash and Treatment and it left my hair smooth and silky even in the canaries which is known for crap water and major humidity,a hair disaster will be swiftly averted if you at least bring decent hair-care. I think the lack of sulfates is good on this occasion because the water is quite hard so the less rinsing you need to so the better. They retail at €7 each and are available from AllDolledup in Ballincollig. Another advantage of having extensions is that you don’t have to wash them everyday but  consider that they do need to be keep fresh and oil free so this Redken Pillow Proof blowdry extender smells fresh and acts like a really posh dry shampoo. I have blogged about the benefits of this one before. It won’t fit in hand luggage but is light enough for your case.
