Remember my waterfall brunch a couple of weeks ago? My non Cork readers were super excited to hear about the city centre bruch that hot the spot. Well if you aren’t from Cork then fear not because you can stay in some swanky serviced apartments upstairs. These perfect for business or pleasure and have my wonderful city cork, right on the doorstep, which is a great place to entertain, shop, eat and drink.
Personally I think it’s a great idea for anyone that gets a bit of cabin fever in a hotel room or wants the facilities that they enjoy at home especially fo you are travelling with your significant other.
Hotel Isaacs has just launched the first phase of 11 new fully-serviced apartments in Cork’s Victorian Quarter. The apartments are in the same complex as award-winning venues Greenes Restaurant and Cask cocktail bar.
The two- and three-room apartments are bright, spacious and contemporary, with the décor drawing on a Scandinavian aesthetic, featuring solid wood oak floors, plush carpets and vibrant pops of colour. The apartments are available for short or long stay guests, offering the comfort and convenience of a home, with the added security and amenities of a hotel.
The eco-friendly apartments are a key part of the group’s five year plan to reduce their carbon footprint by 240 tonnes per year until 2021. The strategy encompasses various waste reduction policies as well as larger scale changes of hot water storage, heating, cooling and energy control.
Arthur Little, general manager of Hotel Isaacs, Greenes Restaurant and Cask, said, “We are delighted to launch these new apartments which are really going to enhance our entire offering. We’re proud of the many strategies we have implemented to become more environmentally friendly, including innovative steps such as utilising our beautiful courtyard waterfall feature as a cooling mechanism. These steps are not only eco-friendly, but create a clean and healthy indoor environment for our guests due to the apartment block’s complete air handling and heat recovery system. We are halfway through our five year initiative to reduce our environmental impact, and we are making great strides in achieving our goal of becoming a premium ‘Green’ hotel, food and drink destination.”
Each apartment features an open plan living space with a living room, dining room and a fully-integrated modern kitchen complete with Siemens appliances, dishwasher, washer-dryer, and coffee machine. All bathrooms are newly-fitted with underfloor heating and a generous walk-in shower. The three bed apartments include a master bedroom with a flatscreen TV and en-suite. The six new apartments offer free high-speed Wifi throughout and are fully climate controlled.
The guest can choose the level of room servicing they require and can arrange for shopping to be done so the fridge is fully stocked prior to arrival.
The apartments are located at number 48 MacCurtain Street in Cork city centre, next door to sister venues, Greenes Restaurant and Cask.
