Ballinlough is a great spot for a bag of chips ….. Everyone knows that but what if I proclaimed it a beauty hotspot too? Nova Beauty is open just a few months on the Ballinlough road opposite O’Sullivans pharmacy and has already taken a little piece of my grooming heart. Why? Well honestly the waxing and nail products that Katie uses are Irish and she has chosen the best quality furniture and ambience too.
Thusfar I have had , Waxpert waxing a 1/2 leg. I love Waxperts wax as there is minial redness postwax and it gets the small hairs. I do a maintenace every 4 weeks costing €15 for a half leg. I have had two so far and haven’t had any ingrown or red spots. This is of course down to Katie too who is a waxing queen. I don’t say that lightly because I have has some seriously dodgy waxing in my time.
Prior to heading up to Nova I had done an SVR foot mask to exfoliate any dead skin off. Of course Katie removes the rough skin anyway but it had been a while since my last pedi so I wasn’t taking any chances.
The Pedicure itself consisted of some great cuticle work I felt no pain and minimal shame. Before I know it, my feet are being buffed and exfoliated into submission. A lively foot scrub takes away the remains of a week old tan. As well as a complete foot overhaul, enjoy a back and shoulder massage whilst your feet are treated to a hydrating mask, warm booties included. The chair in Nova Beauty is the pedicure chair of dreams it vibrates and soothes away your aches and pains. It is on the whole a comfortable hour or so. Katie is so professional and also she really is a perfectionist when it comes to the dry skin and nails.
Then we got serious and chose a polish. I adore the shine and finish from the Manicure company range and it’s Irish too. I decided on a nice vibrant orange. I always seem to go for brighter shades on my toes. And just like that I was ready for my weekend away.
